Acknowledged as the authority on Manta Ray and human interaction, James has more hours underwater with Manta Rays than anyone in the world. He consults with the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa concerning the Manta Rays, lectures at the Resort, and is the producer for the in-house "Manta Channel 44".
His videos have been seen on the Discovery Channel, the Travel Channel, TNT, ESPN and A & E. You may have also seen his photos in the New York Times, the NY Post, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Honolulu Advertiser as well as numerous dive, travel, and newspaper publications worldwide.
As a result of his work in broadcast and print media, tens of millions of people have been exposed to the Kona Manta Rays.
He resides on the Big Island of Hawaii with his wife Martina and explores the beautiful Underwater World of Hawaii several times a week. You usually meet James at the Southern Manta Ray Dive Site in Keauhou.

After earning her Engineering degree in Germany, Martina decided to travel.She visited Hawaii to study dolphin intelligence and never really left.
She has logged more than 7000 dives along the Kona Coast; approx. 2500 of them were night dives with the Manta Rays.
Her first Manta Ray Dive was in February 1998 and changed her life entirely. As a matter of fact she is married to the videographer who filmed her first Manta Ray Encounter!
Over the years Martina has also serviced various snorkel charter boats with excellent photo and video imagery. She believes that her work has touched many people’s lives and changed their perspective and appreciation for the beauty of the ocean and the creatures that inhabit it.
Martina strives to keep everything she does as “win-win”, and she is the cornerstone of Dolphin Dreams Images with her passion, knowledge and experience.

After finishing her internship with us in 2004, Ryan knew that the island lifestyle and the ocean were her calling. She immediately became passionate about the Dolphins and Manta Rays and also fell in love with the Humpback Whales who "winter" around the islands from December to March.
A photographer from North Carolina, she studied Underwater Photo- and Videography under James and Martina.
She is our most experienced camerawoman when it comes to up-close encounters with dolphins. She loves to take novice snorkelers and bring them inches away from these beautiful creatures.
Ryan is an advocate of safe, responsible and respectful interaction with all marine life. You are most likely to meet her on daytime charters where we provide video- and photo services to Dolphin charter boats or on the Manta Ray Dive, when she fills in for James or Martina.
